How it works

From a sentence to the post office in 3 steps.

  1. 1

    Describe it

Tell Genie what you need to send, in plain words β€” and attach a bill, receipt, or email to give more context. No forms, no fiddly formatting.2

  2. 2

    Genie drafts & checks

It formats your details into a letter in the right tone, finds the recipient, and checks the address against postal databases. You review and approve every word β€” Genie does not add facts you did not provide.2,3

  3. 3

    We print & mail it

Review the digital proof, pay, and we mail a physical letter. You get a receipt and a PDF copy to keep β€” plus a tracking number with Certified Mail.

Why PostalGenie

Everything the post office never made easy.

Right tone for the job

Genie matches the tone to the job β€” firm for a complaint, warm for a thank-you, persuasive for an appeal.2

Address lookup included

Look up a business or office by name. Genie checks addresses against postal databases to help catch formatting errors before you pay β€” a best-efforts check, not a delivery guarantee.2,3

Real mail, not email

We print and post a genuine letter through the postal system β€” the kind people actually read and act on.

Secure by default

Your letter and chat are encrypted in transit and at rest, and retained securely to help prevent fraud and abuse. We never sell your data.

You approve every word

Edit the draft freely, then preview the exact PDF we'll mail. Nothing goes out until you say so.

Add context with a file

Attach a bill, receipt, or past email and Genie reads it for context β€” so your letter cites the right names, dates, and details. Supports PDF, DOCX, JPG, and PNG.2,4

Why a real letter

When it has to count.

Some messages need more than an email β€” they need to be on the record.

A Certified Mail letter on a desk β€” a green USPS certified label, postmark, and stamp β€” addressed from an individual to a business.

When physical mail matters

Some situations call for a tangible, dated record β€” a letter on paper you can track, file, and reference later.

A record of delivery

Send it as Certified Mail (an optional upgrade) and you get USPS tracking and a USPS record of delivery to the recipient's address.

Paper carries weight

A mailed letter leaves a tangible, dated record, and people tend to take physical mail more seriously than email β€” which can matter if you ever need to show you reached out.

Hard to ignore

No β€œit went to spam.” A letter on paper β€” and, with certified, a delivery record β€” is far harder for someone to wave away.

Reaches a real person

A letter lands on a desk and gets routed to someone who can act. Automated systems β€” chatbots, phone trees, and no-reply inboxes β€” can ignore you, loop you in circles, or make it hard to reach a human at all.

Novel and personal

Almost no one sends real mail anymore β€” so a letter stands out. It's becoming a novel, intimate way to reach someone: something they can hold, that shows you took the time.

Questions

Good to know.

Is this a real, physical letter?

Yes. We print your letter and hand it to a print-and-mail provider that posts it through the postal system. It arrives as paper mail.

How is my letter printed?

Letters are printed in black and white only on standard letter-size paper β€” we don't currently offer color printing β€” and can be up to 12 pages. The base price covers the first page; each additional page is $0.49, and letters of 7 or more pages add a one-time $5.99 large-letter fee.

How much does it cost?

$4.99 for a one-page letter sent First-Class β€” covering drafting, printing, postage, and handling, with no subscription. Each additional page is $0.49, and letters of 7 or more pages add a one-time $5.99 large-letter fee (letters can be up to 12 pages). Need proof of delivery? Choose Certified Mail for $14.99, which adds USPS tracking and a record of delivery. Prices exclude sales tax.

Who can use PostalGenie?

Anyone in the United States who is at least 18. You send on your own behalf β€” using your real name and return address β€” not on behalf of someone else.

Who can I send to?

Businesses, organizations, and government offices (found by name), or any address you enter manually β€” anywhere the U.S. postal service delivers: all 50 states, Washington, D.C., U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands), and APO/FPO/DPO military addresses. Senders must be located in the United States.

How long does delivery take?

After you approve a letter, it's typically processed and handed off for mailing within 1–2 business days. From there, most letters arrive in about 3–5 business days (First-Class). Certified Mail takes about the same time but adds tracking and a record of delivery. Actual processing and delivery times may vary and are not guaranteed.

What if I need something postmarked by a specific date and time?

If you're up against a hard postmark deadline with only a day or two to spare, we can't guarantee your letter will be postmarked in time, so we don't recommend relying on PostalGenie for it. Use the service when you have at least 3–5 business days of lead time before the required postmark date.

Do I have to write or format the letter myself?

No. Describe what you need in plain words and Genie drafts a complete, properly formatted letter. You review and edit it before anything is sent.

What happens to my letter's content?

It's encrypted (in transit and at rest) and retained securely for safety and security β€” to help prevent fraud and abuse and protect you in the event of a dispute. We keep a receipt of your order, limit access to your content, and never sell it.

Can I edit what Genie writes?

Always. You can rewrite the draft however you like and preview the exact PDF before paying. Nothing is sent without your approval.

Can I change or edit my letter after I've paid?

Unfortunately, no. Payment is your final approval β€” your letter goes straight into the print-and-mail pipeline, and once it's handed off for printing it can't be recalled or changed. That's why we show you the exact PDF before checkout: what you approve is precisely what gets printed and mailed.

Is my payment and personal information secure?

Your data is stored in the US and encrypted in transit and at rest β€” including your letter contents and saved addresses. Payments are processed by Stripe, so we never store your full card details. Your letter content is retained securely for safety and security (fraud and abuse prevention), with access limited, and we never sell your data.

Is my conversation with Genie private?

Your chat and draft are processed by a U.S.-based third-party AI model provider that doesn't use them to train AI models and retains them only briefly. Our own copy is encrypted and retained securely for safety and abuse prevention, with access limited.

  1. Prices are shown exclusive of sales tax; applicable sales tax is calculated and added at checkout. The base price covers a one-page letter; for multi-page letters, $0.49 per additional page and a one-time $5.99 large-letter fee (7 or more pages) are added and shown before payment. Letters may be up to 12 pages.
  2. Genie is an automated AI system, not a person. It drafts each letter from the information you provide and does not add facts or claims you did not supply. AI-generated output may vary or contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing and approving the final letter, and no letter is mailed without your approval.
  3. Address lookup and verification rely on third-party data and are provided on a best-efforts basis. Accuracy is not guaranteed and may depend on the recipient and the records available; you are responsible for confirming the recipient's address before sending.
  4. Text and context extracted from uploaded files are generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Confirm that any details drawn from a file are correct before approving your letter.
  5. Cost estimates for the FedEx Office route are approximate and vary by location, page count, weight, and the service selected. FedEx prices are as of JuneΒ 16,Β 2026 and are subject to change. 6. Time estimates (the β€œEst. time” figures) are illustrative, not guarantees, and count only the print-and-mail errand (drive + print + counter) β€” not drafting or delivery transit β€” built from a local round-trip drive ~20–40 min plus counter wait ~5–10 min, and printing/enveloping ~8–12 min: ~30–60 min for FedEx Office print + ship (one trip); ~5–10 min for PostalGenie (describe, review, pay β€” no errand). The PostalGenie estimate covers the online workflow only and may be longer for complex letters. Actual times vary by person, location, drive distance, queue length, and letter complexity.
